Performance is a term that can be used to describe many things. To me, it is something I can observe, measure and change to improve outcomes for a client. As a professional, I have an obligation to my clients to use the most accurate tools and methods to identify critical issues that must be resolved. I am committed to measure performance at every level of an organization to formulate effective interventions and learning solutions. Once an improvement plan is approved, I will develop tools and processes that will engage and motivate learners to reach the desired performance outcomes and goals.
I believe that learners start as a blank canvas and can be altered with positive and negative reinforcement. An individual will achieve learning when material is presented in a way that stimulates and motivates them. Cognition and learning of any material can be greatly enhanced by an instructor who takes the time to learn and apply effective learning theories specific to their audience. To me, learning is a process that begins with the introduction of a new concept and its applications and ends with the learner having a complete understanding of the concept including the ability to recall it instantly. Using blended learning and the facilities available to me, I believe I can create a setting that promotes learning for learners. The proper location and environment can enhance or disrupt learning. I believe my role as an instructor is as important as the desired outcomes. I will remain committed to my own continued learning to ensure I am trained in the latest innovations and industry standards. I will take measures to ensure I have some type of personalization in every project I complete. If the process of performance improvement ever stops being fun on some level, I will retire.
